Nice video. As a flight nurse for California Shock Trauma Air Rescue I think this gives people some idea of what medical flight crews do.

As an RN, I know that many nurses view being a flight nurse as being a pinnacle of a nursing career. The only way positions open up is by flight nurses being killed on the job. It’s a dangerous job, and it doesn’t take a lot to get killed. Plus it’s a job where you have to have ice water running through your veins. If a patient codes a 1,000 feet in the air, you better be damn well sure you now what you’re doing.

For a look at USAF flight medics and nurses at work in Iraq, watch Jeremy May Iraq. He is finishing up his 3rd tour and headed back to finish up his Nursing degree @ College of Southern Nevada and UNLV.
