I will be an RN in two years…and I will be anxious to go into a specialty field after getting some ground level experience. What are some of the most interesting specialty fields in nursing? I like fast paced work.

And then there is the most exciting and rewarding specialty of all:

PSYCHIATRIC NURSING : Trying to calm a troubled mind, banish the demons that threaten to disrupt sanity, bring some order to a chaotic brain, pacify the boiling anger and heal the tormented soul is one of the most satisfying branches of nursing.

Facilities are numerous, medication is advancing and readily available, work schedules are reasonable and salaries are commensurate with responsibility.

Others include rehabilitation, occupational health (injuries and illnesses that occured at or from workplace), administrative positions working in case management and consulting.

Here is a website for general information about careers: US Occupational Outlook Handbook and can type into search ‘registered nurse’ or such.
