Mackenzie R asked:

I have decided that I want to be a registered nurse someday and I was wondering what the best nursing school in the country is. Or what state has the best nursing schools? I am looking for a campus where I could live. I live in Minnesota also if that helps.

I don’t know if it’s the best, but the University of Washington is outstanding. You could go there for a BSN or go to grad school and receive an ARNP; then you can diagnose and treat patients while working with a physician in private practice. UW also has an excellent medical school and an undergraduate Physician Assistant program if you feel like exploring any of those options.

Thank you for looking into nursing. The local hospital in my town (2 hours from UW- that’s why I’m trying to steal you) has almost 30 openings for RN’s at the moment. We need them desperately, I’m sure the rest of the country is the same way. Good luck!

I would search for a school that isn’t heavily impacted. You can become a nurse in ANY state. The school you choose should be accredited and has a high class passing rate for the NCLEX. Since you’ll come out with the same degree try to select a school that isn’t going to cost you an arm and a leg.

Texas Woman’s University. They are far away, but the farther from the parents, the better, right? JK!
