Produced by Paula Packwood (health care consultant, author, and registered nurse) and shot entirely by me, this is an important piece about the looming shortage of nursing in California, and the United States in general. This eye-opening video has been presented to audiences from Sacramento to Washington, DC.

Can someone tell me why in school and in the books they teach us to call patients: CLIENTS? Perhaps because the healthcare system has profited for year from people’s health. We have a very inhumane system going on. Talk about how hard it is to get in a nursing program and how expensive it is to study it.

The technique is to think about your patients and think less of yourself in that way you’ll decrease the stress..

I agree. Check out the video I shot of Bill Clinton speaking here in Madison WI on why Nurses have endorsed Hillary because of her healthcare plan. I also got videos of Chelsea answering a number of questions to students here.

I am a nurse because I love it, even after 25 years. The whole issue of nursing dissatisfaction primarily has to do with the corrupt, convoluted corporations that are really running the industry.

Why am I a Nurse? Because I want to help sick people get better. Because I care. Because I feel good on my way home from work when I think of the people I helped. I made a difference in their lives. When I helped resuscitate a patient who had a cardiac arrest in ICU I was doing my job but every day I walked into the unit, the man called out…”There’s that nurse who saved my life.” That’s why I’m a nurse.

yes its true, nursing job is the most difficult work in the world. what i **** most is that, a headnurse must be qualified for her post. here in middle east, as long as u share the same faith as them. like my headnurse, shes only a midwife, not a nurse and yet shes a headnurse, how did that happened?

I totally agree with the comments about nurses need to be respected and not seen just as *** wipers. We work hard to save lives and expect just a little respect and appreciation. We dont make what we deserve and I think if they can pay a electrician 30 an hour we should be getting paid more. After all we had to go through to get our degrees and the money to pay for it, yea something has got to give.

When you have a bad desease and you canĀ“t move to clean your ***… you will pray for having a good nurse that help you wash your body with thecnic and respect for you.Without feeling disgusting… repulse by a moribund person that need nurses care.

My regards to all nurses that care of us since we born and until we die…

What if everyone will like to be a nurse? No doctors, secretaries, sellers, lawyers, singers, actress? Everyone different preferences have a place. A nurse might find marvelous to save a life through CPR; alleviate the pain of fractures; treat/prevent dehydration and shock when bloody, nauseous and diarrheas moments attack us. Life and health comes first; dealing with vomits, blood and *** is secondary. THANK GOD THERE IS STILL NURSES. THEY DESERVE THE BEST SALARY AND WORKING CONDITIONS

If there is a shortage why not lower their standards so all the black ass-wiping blood-mopper wanna be nurses get in that job. I see a lot of black people in hospitals and indians, they’re taking over don’t they. White people can’t stand their own sick kind. Most people at the nursing homes are old white folks abandoned by their kids.

Why have a shortage when there are a lot of immigrants applying for nursing jobs but lack documents. In fact, there are a number of students pending to get their licenses due to some limitations on some ****. Nursing educators have high standards and its not that easy to get in. They have a lot of requirement bullshit and score **** minimum for acceptance.

well maybe you don’t mind, but most people do. that’s why there is shortage. who wants a stressful, nasty, dangerous job when you can do something better and get payed a lot more? like being an engineneer, programmer or businessman.

nursing ed is not that hard, pay is ok so why shortage???? use common sense and logic. it’s fairly obvious.

acctualy you can find a cushy office nurse job doing mostly paperwork, like in the nursing home or home healt or smth, while CNA’S do all the nasty job. It all depends on where you work. In some shitty hospital you might have to do all this crap, but if it’s a better hospital it could be better. You never know.

Sad but true. Zheadmon’s comments that is. There are a lot of good nurses out there who want to help, it’s like a calling for most of us. Unfortunately, this profession needs to evolve. In my opinion, this is the only career in the world where you have to deal with so many things all at once. It is back breaking as it is mind numbing. At the end of your shift (12 hrs) you are left to wonder why you chose to become a nurse.

wether the salary is good or not depends on if you’ve ever had any money. to poorer people it is a lot depends on your experience in life. believe me you will earn every penny. good luck .you deserve a good salary. you are responsible for peoples lives. if you were a plumber or mechanic you’d make $75 an hour.care for someone in their hour of need..start ing salary may be $25-30 an hour.
