How can I become an excellent nursing student without being nervous or scared?

I am signing up at a community college near my home in Maryland and I am a little nervous about taking classes. I don’t know much about nursing except when my aunt tells me how they do their jobs and she is a nurse herself. I want to follow in her footsteps. What are some searchable sites I can look into and get some ideas about getting into nursing?

Why don’t you volunteer at a hospital or blood bank or other agency where you will get some exposure to nursing? That way you will have a much better ideal of your chosen field. It would also help you understand the clinical classes that much better.

What you should do before you enroll in classes is to see if yoiu can go to work with your aunt, that way you can see if nursing is something you’re truly interested in. I know my science teacher wanted to be vet, but she did job shadowing and found that some of it gets pretty disgusting and that she wasn’t as interested as she thought. If you don’t mind the blood and guts and everything, maybe go to a hospital nearby and see if you can watch surgeries or something. Besides, everyone gets excited/nervous/anxious when school starts, and you’ll get used to it after awhile
